CloudEx Inc. ("we", "us", or "our") operates the "Ad Blocker Pro" app and its related web services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you. By using the Service, you are deemed to have agreed to the practices described in this Policy.
1. Our Core Principle
Ad Blocker Pro is an ad-blocking app designed with your privacy as the top priority. Ad filtering is completed entirely on your device, and we never look into what you browse or the contents of your communications. Specifically, we do not record, store, or transmit any of the following:
- The websites or apps you access
- The contents of the traffic flowing through your device
- The contents of the DNS queries that pass through the filtering process
- Browsing or behavioral history in a personally identifiable form
2. About the Local VPN (On-Device Filter)
On Android, Ad Blocker Pro uses a mechanism called a "local VPN" in order to block ads in all browsers. Unlike a typical VPN, it does not connect to any external VPN server. The tunnel is closed within your device; traffic does not pass through our servers and is never transmitted externally. This mechanism is used solely for filtering DNS queries.
On iOS, we use the DNS filtering mechanism provided by the OS, together with content filtering by the app's built-in browser. In all cases, we do not collect or transmit the contents of your communications.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information Collected Automatically
- Anonymous crash reports: Via Firebase Crashlytics. Only when not turned off in the settings screen, we collect the stack trace, device model, OS version, and app version when the app crashes. This does not include personally identifiable information or browsing content.
- Purchase / license information: We use purchase tokens issued by Google Play or the Apple App Store to verify entitlement to the paid version. We never receive any payment information such as credit card numbers.
3.2 Information Stored Only on Your Device
- Block statistics: Statistics such as the number of ads and trackers blocked are stored only on your device and are not transmitted to our servers. They are reset when you clear the app's data.
- App settings: On/off states, the whitelist, browser settings, and the like are stored only on your device.
3.3 Information We Explicitly Do Not Collect
- A history of the websites or apps you have used
- Location information such as GPS coordinates
- Phone number, contacts, calendar, photos, microphone, or camera
- Advertising IDs (IDFA / AAID)
3.4 Permissions the App Requests and Their Purposes
Some features require OS permissions. Ad Blocker Pro requests the following permissions only when the relevant feature is enabled, and uses them only for the stated purposes:
- VPN service (Android's BIND_VPN_SERVICE) — A permission the OS requires in order to establish, within your device, a local DNS filter that blocks ads across all browsers. It does not connect to any external VPN server.
- Notifications (Android 13+) — Used to notify you that a download in the built-in browser has completed.
- Usage access (Android's PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS) — Requested only if you enable the optional "Auto-switch" feature. It is used solely to detect which app is currently in the foreground, so ad blocking can turn on automatically only while you are using a browser. This information is used on your device only and is never collected, stored, or transmitted.
- Display over other apps (Android's SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW) — Requested only if you enable the optional "Floating button" feature. It is used to show an on-screen button that toggles ad blocking on or off, and does not access any personal data.
4. Updating the Filter Lists
Ad Blocker Pro periodically downloads the list of ad and tracker domains (the filter lists) from our distribution server to keep them up to date. This communication merely retrieves the filter lists; it does not transmit any information that identifies you or any browsing content.
5. How We Use Information
The limited information we collect is used only for the following purposes:
- Operating and maintaining the Service
- Verifying entitlement to the paid version
- Diagnosing and fixing crashes (only for users who have opted in)
- Responding to support inquiries
- Complying with applicable laws
6. Third-Party Services
Ad Blocker Pro uses the following third-party services. Each service has its own privacy policy.
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) — anonymous crash diagnostic data
- Firebase Hosting (Google LLC) — distribution of the filter lists
- Google Play Billing / Apple App Store — payments are completed on the store platform side.
Because Ad Blocker Pro does not display ads within the app, it does not share data with any advertising network.
7. Data Retention
- Crash reports: retained for 90 days, then deleted.
- Support emails: retained for 12 months after the last reply, then deleted (except where legally required).
- Statistics and settings stored on your device: erased when you uninstall the app or clear the app's data.
8. International Data Transfers
We are based in Japan. The infrastructure used for crash diagnostics and filter distribution may be located in various countries. When you use the Service, the minimal information described above may be processed outside your country of residence under standard contractual safeguards.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you reside (e.g., the EEA, UK, California, Japan), you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the limited information we hold. You can:
- Turn off the sending of crash reports in the app settings to disable Firebase Crashlytics
- Uninstall the app or clear the app's data to erase the statistics and settings on your device
- Contact us at the address below to make a request regarding the information we hold
10. Children's Privacy
Ad Blocker Pro is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age applicable in your region). If we inadvertently collect information from such a child, we will delete it promptly upon being contacted.
11. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The latest version is always published at this URL together with its effective date. We will also notify you within the app of significant changes as appropriate.
