CloudEx Inc. ("we", "us", or "our") operates the "Ad Blocker Pro" app and its related web services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains, for the iOS version of the Service, what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you. By using the Service, you are deemed to have agreed to the practices described in this Policy.
1. Our Core Principle
Ad Blocker Pro is an app designed with your privacy as the top priority. Ad blocking and DNS protection are processed entirely on your device, and we never look into what you browse or the contents of your communications. Specifically, we do not record, store, or transmit any of the following:
- The websites you access
- The contents of the traffic flowing through your device
- The contents of the DNS lookups handled by DNS protection
- Browsing or behavioral history in a personally identifiable form
2. About DNS Protection
The iOS version of Ad Blocker Pro provides "DNS protection", built on the Network Extension mechanism provided by the OS. DNS protection is a privacy feature that blocks connections to tracker domains at the domain level on your device, and encrypts your DNS lookups with DNS-over-HTTPS. Unlike a typical VPN, it never connects to any external VPN server. The tunnel is closed within your device; traffic does not pass through our servers and is never transmitted externally. The app never installs a root certificate and never decrypts HTTPS traffic.
Ad blocking is provided by content filtering in the app's built-in browser and by the Safari content blockers and web extension. In all cases, we do not collect or transmit the contents of your communications.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information Collected Automatically
- Anonymous crash reports: Via Firebase Crashlytics. Only when not turned off in the settings screen, we collect the stack trace, device model, OS version, and app version when the app crashes. This does not include personally identifiable information or browsing content.
- App usage statistics: Via Google Analytics for Firebase. We collect anonymous app usage events (such as the app being opened for the first time) together with device information. We use this data to understand aggregate app usage and to measure the effectiveness of our own advertising campaigns (counting app installs that resulted from an ad). It is never used to display ads in the app, and it does not include your browsing content. The iOS advertising identifier (IDFA) is not accessed.
- Purchase / license information: We use purchase information issued by the Apple App Store to verify entitlement to the paid version. We never receive any payment information such as credit card numbers.
3.2 Information Stored Only on Your Device
- Block statistics: Statistics such as the number of ads and trackers blocked are stored only on your device and are not transmitted to our servers. They are reset when you clear the app's data.
- App settings: On/off states, the whitelist, browser settings, and the like are stored only on your device.
3.3 Information We Explicitly Do Not Collect
- A history of the websites or apps you have used
- Location information such as GPS coordinates
- Phone number, contacts, calendar, photos, microphone, or camera
- The iOS advertising identifier (IDFA) — we do not perform App Tracking Transparency tracking
3.4 Permissions the App Requests and Their Purposes
Some features require OS permissions. Ad Blocker Pro requests the following permissions only when the relevant feature is enabled, and uses them only for the stated purposes:
- Adding a VPN configuration (iOS Network Extension) — A permission the OS requires in order to run DNS protection (blocking connections to trackers and encrypting your DNS traffic) on your device. It does not connect to any external VPN server and does not collect the contents of your communications.
- Notifications — Used to notify you that a download in the built-in browser has completed.
4. Updating the Filter Lists
Ad Blocker Pro periodically downloads the list of ad and tracker domains (the filter lists) from our distribution server to keep them up to date. This communication merely retrieves the filter lists; it does not transmit any information that identifies you or any browsing content.
5. How We Use Information
The limited information we collect is used only for the following purposes:
- Operating and maintaining the Service
- Verifying entitlement to the paid version
- Understanding aggregate app usage and improving the app (analytics)
- Measuring the effectiveness of our own advertising campaigns (install conversion measurement)
- Diagnosing and fixing crashes (only for users who have opted in)
- Responding to support inquiries
- Complying with applicable laws
6. Third-Party Services
Ad Blocker Pro uses the following third-party services. Each service has its own privacy policy.
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) — anonymous crash diagnostic data
- Google Analytics for Firebase (Google LLC) — anonymous app usage statistics and measurement of our own ad campaigns (install conversions)
- Firebase Hosting (Google LLC) — distribution of the filter lists
- Apple App Store — payments are completed on the store platform side.
Ad Blocker Pro does not display ads within the app and does not share your data with advertising networks in order to show you ads. The usage data described above is processed by Google solely to measure the performance of our own advertising campaigns.
7. Data Retention
- Crash reports: retained for 90 days, then deleted.
- Analytics data: retained by Google Analytics for up to 14 months, then deleted.
- Support emails: retained for 12 months after the last reply, then deleted (except where legally required).
- Statistics and settings stored on your device: erased when you uninstall the app or clear the app's data.
8. International Data Transfers
We are based in Japan. The infrastructure used for crash diagnostics and filter distribution may be located in various countries. When you use the Service, the minimal information described above may be processed outside your country of residence under standard contractual safeguards.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you reside (e.g., the EEA, UK, California, Japan), you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the limited information we hold. You can:
- Turn off the sending of crash reports in the app settings to disable Firebase Crashlytics
- Uninstall the app or clear the app's data to erase the statistics and settings on your device
- Contact us at the address below to make a request regarding the information we hold
10. Children's Privacy
Ad Blocker Pro is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age applicable in your region). If we inadvertently collect information from such a child, we will delete it promptly upon being contacted.
11. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The latest version is always published at this URL together with its effective date. We will also notify you within the app of significant changes as appropriate.
